Brad Reed Thompson is an evangelical Christian currently living in Boise, Idaho. He has been happily married to his wife Becky since 1990 and together they have three incredible children, all of which are now in their teenage years, which explains Brad’s quickly receding hairline. Brad attended the Calvary Chapel Boise School of Ministry where his love and knowledge of the Bible was deepened and his desire to share it with others was ignited.
Brad’s biblical insights and opinions seek to separate truth from tradition, reality from myth, and fact from fiction. He believes the Bible to be the God-given source of truth, even when it contradicts long held traditions, widely accepted doctrines, and deeply ingrained opinions.
“We must seek to conform our lives to the Bible rather than conform the Bible to our lives and, in order to do that, we must look at it honestly, openly, and with a willingness to allow it to change us.”
The Bible is more than words on a page. It is God’s word — active, living, and powerful. We speak to God in prayer, and He most often speaks back to us through His word.
The Bible… is in truth, the word of God, which also effectively works in you who believe. 1 Thess 2:13 NKJV
What does that mean? That if you do not believe, you will likely always dismiss the Bible as an outdated book of historical myths and legends. But if you do believe it, it will “effectively work in you”, leading you to the joy, peace, and fulfillment that God intends for you to have.
Yes, the Bible is full of hard teachings, strange occurences, and even seeming contradictions. Brad’s ministry is dedicated to making sense of these things in an effort to come to understand God’s word as it is meant to be understood… as the expressed heart of God and the means to come into a relationship with Him.
